Better in company

Thanks to the wealth of our mountains, Laciana Valley is the perfect place to make all kinds of routes: walking, by bike, on horseback... The possibilities to discover our forests and brañas are endless. Some interesting routes are: 

Millenary yew trees route: This route goes through Rioscuro's braña, in the middle of a forest full of yew trees, that had been growing for over a thousand years. The trees you will be able to see are impressive due to their size and thickness. Yew trees were sacred trees for Celtic peoples, that is why this forest will take you to ancient times. You will walk 5 to 7 km in this route, and its difficulty is medium. 

Mills route: This route crosses the mountains of Rabanal de Abajo and Rabanal de Arriba. Along the way, you will be able to visit the hydraulic mills that used to grind the grain to make bread. You could also see a beautiful waterfall. The tour is approximately 4 km long and its difficulty is low. 

Rail trail: This path follows the ancient railway that connected the villages of the Valley. Starting in Villablino, you will be able to decide if you want to walk towards Villaseca de Laciana or Caboalles de Arriba. This is a very easy route, so it is suitable for every walker. The distance you will cover in this route is between 7 and 9 km. 

Cueto Nidio: This route starts in Rabanal de Arriba and going through the braña, you will reach the peak of this mountain (1773 m), where you will see a panoramic view of the Valley and its surroundings. You will walk around 15 km. The difficulty is medium.
